Getting Started
How do I create events from notes?
Open the Quick Create bar at the bottom of the screen and type your plans in natural language. For example, type "Dinner tomorrow at 8pm with Sarah" and Caliq will parse it into a structured event with the correct date, time, and title. Tap the event card to review and confirm.
Can I create multiple events from a single note?
Yes. Caliq can parse multiple events from one note. For example: "Dinner tomorrow 8pm, then meet John at 10pm, and meeting every Thursday at 10am until end of March" will create three separate events with the correct times and recurrence patterns.
What calendar services does Caliq support?
Caliq works with any calendar connected to your device through the platform calendar framework. This includes native account sync, external calendar accounts, and any CalDAV-compatible service. You can manage connected calendars in your device's Settings > Calendar > Accounts.
Does Caliq work on iPad?
Yes. Caliq is fully optimized for iPad with Split View and Slide Over support. The iPad version features an expanded layout that takes advantage of the larger screen, with a multi-column view for navigating your calendar and notes side by side.
Subscriptions
What's the difference between Personal and Professional?
The Personal tier ($0.99/month) includes local NLP parsing, conflict detection, account-based sync, widgets, and multi-calendar support. The Professional tier ($4.99/month) adds server-based LLM parsing for more accurate and complex text understanding, daily smart summaries, availability timelines, smart filtering, and free-slot widgets.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your device's app marketplace and subscription settings. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad, find Caliq, and choose to modify or cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any time through your device account subscription settings. Changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
Features
How does conflict detection work?
When you create a new event, Caliq automatically checks for overlapping events across all your connected calendars. If a conflict is found, you'll see a visual warning before committing the event, letting you adjust the time or proceed.
What are unavailable time blocks?
Unavailable time blocks let you mark periods when you're not available, like deep work sessions, personal time, or recurring commitments. These blocks are factored into conflict detection and free-slot calculations, helping you protect your focus time.
How do widgets work?
Caliq offers widgets in small, medium, and large sizes for your Home Screen and Lock Screen. Widgets show upcoming events, daily timelines, and weather information. They support light mode, dark mode, and tinted appearances, and update throughout the day.
Does Caliq show weather information?
Yes. Caliq integrates weather data into your daily view and widgets. You'll see temperature, conditions, and precipitation forecasts alongside your schedule, helping you plan your day with weather in mind.
Privacy & Data
Does Caliq collect my data?
No. Caliq does not track your activity, display ads, or collect personal data. On the Personal tier, all processing happens entirely on your device. On the Professional tier, only the text you submit for server parsing is processed. It is not stored after parsing is complete.
How is my data synced?
Your data syncs through your device-account cloud sync service, which is encrypted and managed under the relevant provider's privacy policies. Caliq does not operate its own sync servers for calendar data.
Is Caliq GDPR compliant?
Yes. Caliq complies with the GDPR. Since we collect minimal data and perform most processing on-device, your privacy rights are inherently protected. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Troubleshooting
Events aren't syncing across my devices
Make sure cloud sync is enabled for Caliq on all your devices. Go to your device account's cloud-sync settings and ensure Caliq is toggled on. Also check that you're signed into the same device account on all devices and have a stable internet connection.
The app can't access my calendars
Caliq needs calendar access to function. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars and make sure Caliq is enabled. If it's not listed, try reinstalling the app and granting permission when prompted.
Parsing isn't working correctly
The quality of parsing also depends on the tier of NLP available to your plan. In general, local NLP is less capable than Server NLP. If you're on the Personal Plan and are running into issues with local NLP, try simplifying your prompts or upgrading to the Professional Plan. If you're already on the Professional Plan, check whether you can see "Server NLP" in the bottom-left of the event card while parsing runs. If that label appears but parsing still does not trigger reliably, it may be due to internal thresholds tripping, momentary network issues, or security verification failures on either the device or server side. If the issue keeps happening, please reach out through our Contact page and include the note you were trying to parse so we can investigate.
