Getting Started

How do I create events from notes?

Open the Quick Create bar at the bottom of the screen and type your plans in natural language. For example, type "Dinner tomorrow at 8pm with Sarah" and Caliq will parse it into a structured event with the correct date, time, and title. Tap the event card to review and confirm.

What happens during onboarding?

Caliq guides setup step by step. Depending on your device and what you want to use, onboarding can walk you through calendar access, notifications, location, weather, iCloud sync, and optional trial activation so the app is configured before you start planning.

Can I create multiple events from a single note?

Yes. Caliq can parse multiple events from one note. For example: "Dinner tomorrow 8pm, then meet John at 10pm, and meeting every Thursday at 10am until end of March" will create three separate events with the correct times and recurrence patterns.

What calendar services does Caliq support?

Caliq works with any calendar connected to your device through the platform calendar framework. This includes native account sync, external calendar accounts, and any CalDAV-compatible service. You can manage connected calendars in your device's Settings > Calendar > Accounts.

Does Caliq work on iPad and Mac?

Yes. Caliq is optimized for iPad and also available on Mac. The iPad experience takes advantage of the larger screen with a roomier layout for navigating your calendar and notes, while Mac support brings the same planning model to the desktop.

Subscriptions

What's the difference between Personal and Professional?

Personal is the default free tier. It includes local parsing, conflict detection, iCloud sync, optional iCloud backups, widgets, weather basics, and multi-calendar support. Professional is the paid upgrade for more capable online parsing, deeper event understanding, Day Glance planning tools, availability workflows, and higher-end intelligent features.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your device's app marketplace and subscription settings. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad, find Caliq, and choose to modify or cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Can I switch between plans?

Yes. You can upgrade to Professional through Caliq, and any paid subscription changes or cancellations are managed through your Apple subscription settings. Timing for upgrades, downgrades, billing, and renewals follows the App Store rules shown at purchase.

Features

How does conflict detection work?

When you create a new event, Caliq automatically checks for overlapping events across all your connected calendars. If a conflict is found, you'll see a visual warning before committing the event, letting you adjust the time or proceed.

How do event locations and map previews work?

Caliq uses Apple Maps-powered search to suggest places while you edit an event. When a place resolves cleanly, you can preview it on a map, tap through for a larger preview, and open it in either Apple Maps or Google Maps. You can also choose a default location behavior in Settings: Always ask, Current location, or Don't ask.

How do widgets work?

Caliq offers Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, including a configurable Events widget and an Upcoming Events lock screen widget. Widgets can show upcoming events, daily timelines, and weather information, and they support custom backgrounds, accent presets, and system appearances.

Does Caliq show weather information?

Yes. Caliq integrates weather data into your daily view and widgets. You can choose which weather metrics matter most, and weather lines up closely with your event timeline so it is easier to see how the day will actually feel around your schedule.

How do iCloud backups work?

Caliq supports snapshot-based iCloud backups with manual backup, automatic backup frequency controls, retention settings, a saved-backup library, and restore options. You can choose what gets backed up and restore only the categories you need.

Privacy & Data

Does Caliq collect my data?

Caliq does not show ads, sell your data, or track you for advertising. Core calendar and note data stays on your device and in the Apple services you choose to use, such as calendar sync or iCloud backups. If you use optional online parsing or contact support, the specific text or information you submit may be processed only to provide that feature or respond to your request.

How is my data synced?

Your calendar data syncs through the Apple and account services already connected to your device. Caliq does not run its own general-purpose calendar sync servers. If you enable iCloud backups, backup snapshots are stored in your iCloud account separately from your live calendar sync.

Is Caliq GDPR compliant?

Yes. Caliq complies with the GDPR. Since we collect minimal data and perform most processing on-device, your privacy rights are inherently protected. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Troubleshooting

Events aren't syncing across my devices

Make sure iCloud sync is enabled for Caliq on all your devices, that you are signed into the same Apple account everywhere, and that each device has network access. If you are checking backups rather than live sync, open the backups screen directly, since backup snapshots and live sync are separate features.

The app can't access my calendars

Caliq needs calendar access to function. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars and make sure Caliq is enabled. If it's not listed, try reinstalling the app and granting permission when prompted.

Parsing isn't working correctly

Parsing quality depends on which processing path is available to your device and plan. Personal uses local parsing, and compatible devices may also expose experimental local LLM support in some flows. Professional adds online parsing and should enable it automatically when your purchase is recognized. If parsing seems off, try simplifying the note, make sure the app is up to date, and check your network connection for online parsing. If the issue keeps happening, please reach out through our Contact page and include the note you were trying to parse, your device model, and your OS version.
